Samuel Bird’s Father Asks for Continued Support to Find Son | PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
STATEMENT FROM JUSTIN P BIRD
October 3, 2025
Edmonton Police Services (EPS) announce disappearance a homicide
October 3, 2025 (Treaty No. 6 Territory) — Hearing that Samuel’s disappearance has been deemed criminal is news no parent should ever have to hear. Losing a child is unspeakable. There is a hole in my heart that will never be filled. The press conference on October 1st offered more answers, and confirmed my Son is deceased, however our search for his body continues.
We have been searching for Samuel every day, fueled by love and determination. Until we find him, we will never have closure. We are asking for continued support to find my son and bring him home to rest.
We ask the residents in the area EPS identified as the possible place Samuel may be located to cooperate, work with police, the SARS teams and to report anything suspicious. Our family has organized a fund to help with search and recovery efforts and we encourage people to donate. Funds raised will support search and rescue teams, helicopters, boats and other equipment.
There are so many people who have helped us during this time. To my family, friends, volunteers, advocates, EPS, Paul First Nation and the Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations — thank you for searching tirelessly for Samuel and helping get him the justice he deserves.
People are encouraged to donate to the search and recovery of Samuel Bird at https://www.treatysix.org/donate. This is the only organized fund authorized by the family.
